Introduction to kiln-fused glass. Students will learn to design, shape, assemble and uniquely create a variety of glass art projects including dichroic glass jewelry, a coaster, and a small slumped bowl. The class can be modified to fit student interests. Skills covered include cutting, grinding, use of glass saw, inclusions (mica, bronze, copper), glass paints and slumping. Work with different kinds of glass: dichroic, iridized, stringer, frit, and confetti. Keep a firing log, learn kiln shelf preparation, firing schedules and their effects on glass. Finish your projects with various findings and wire wrapping.
