A Mandala is a “magic circle” drawn within a circle to inspire insight. Explore the world of mandalas with Gay Walker, an art therapist and Holistic Health Program Coordinator at WMU. According to Carl Jung, mandalas are an expressions of the self and can be used for self
exploration and knowledge. In this workshop students will draw a mandala and learn to interpret it by looking at the colors and shapes used and learning what they mean. Then Sherry will help you recreate it into a colorful 9” fused-glass mandala circle. Learn to cut glass and incorporate frit, stringer and confetti into the piece. It will then be fired in our kiln to create a beautiful snapshot of a moment in time. This fun workshop is designed to guide self-exploration, stress reduction, balance and well being.
What a fun class for youth, teens and adults! Consider this workshop as a fun birthday party, get together or event for your group! Fun things to do in Kalamazoo!
