Prerequisite: Basic flameworking skills

Use lampworking or flameworking techniques to create unique, detailed knobs and drawer pulls for your cabinets, chest-of-drawers or closet. This class will focus on construction of solid, practical designs using borosilicate glass that can easily be translated to other popular types of flameworking glass. Students will learn to use the kiln as a garage and to work with large diameter mandrels. Class will discuss cold working options to add an extra finishing touch. West Michigan Glass Art Center staff will add the finishing hardware for up to four knobs created in this class. Think of the Art Center when you are thinking of fun things to do in Kalamazoo!
