WMGAC erected a twenty-five-foot kinetic glass sculpture at the Kalamazoo Nature Center. The sculpture is hanging in the Sun-Rain room and reflects the talents of member glass artists. Stop by the Nature Center to see this wonderful artistic display. The West Michigan Glass Art Center presented the KNC with a gift of several stained glass turtles from our summer glass camp's "Public Art Project"! You can visit them in the Tropical Sun-Rain Room at the KNC.

Glass art exhibit featured art created by WMGAC members and Summer Glass Camp student Paperweight Exhibition at the Flint Institute of Arts Captured in Glass: Historic & Contemporary Paperweights October 9, 2011 through June 10, 2012
The Flint Institute of Arts will present a survey of glass paperweights and related forms from the 19th century to present day. Highlighting different techniques and styles from the most prestigious glass factories in France, Belgium, Great Britain, and the United States, Captured in Glass will include more than 250 works that represent the very height of glass-making in both design and fabrication.
This exhibition includes paperweights from the FIA’s permanent collection given by Mr. and Mrs. William L. Richards of pieces from the collection of Mrs. Viola E. Bray, and Mr. Richard A. Shaw’s gift of Mrs. Genevieve Shaw’s collection. Also featured are loans from L.H. Selman, Ltd. in Chicago, International Paperweight Society Foundation, Habatat Galleries in Royal Oak, and several private collectors.
